The New Pledge of Allegiance (or Pledge of Submission)

In 2019, I wrote a satirical book titled M.A.G.A.: Making America Go Awry: (Essays and Poems on the State of the Union). Little did I know how prophetic some of it would become.

One in particular was a new Pledge of Allegiance. Written with tongue in cheek satire, it is now scarier than ever based on the “crowning” of King Orange at the RNC.

The line of Republicans kneeling before him is longer than ever and many of his critics are now his servants. JD Vance being the most obvious.

Anyway this is what may replace what was once every school child’s start every day and may be the pledge for the new fascist regime.

The New Pledge of Allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to Donald Trump,

Ruler of what was once the United States of America,

And to the “Make America Great Again” slogan for which he stands.

Although we are a divided nation, no longer under God, split asunder by hatred and bigotry,

We have liberty for all, except Muslims, the LGBT community, immigrants, and anyone he disagrees with,

And we have justice for all, except blacks, Hispanics, women, and reporters.
