Project 2025: The Epitome of Hypocrisy (Part One)
I am not sure which is a bigger threat to our democracy: Project 2025 or the medias lack of reporting about it. ABC News just ran a story about how young people are discovering the implications of the project due to TikTok and other platforms where influencers are talking about it. Why isn’t the story about the danger of Project 2025 being reported just in itself.
The Heritage Foundation, which is tax exempt by the way, began writing Project 2025 in 2022. Its premise being that since 1970 the conservative movement has been setback due to the “liberal” policies that have overrun the government and the nation. Their only positive years were under Ronald Reagan, who according to them, made our economy and nation strong. Nevermind the fact that trickle economics did not work.
So as a rallying call Project 2025 hopes to restore the “blessings of Liberty” as stated in the Constitution. They plan to accomplish this based on what they call the four broad fronts that will save America:
Restore the family as the centerpiece of American life and protect our children.
Dismantle the administrative state and return self-governance to the American people.
Defend our nation’s sovereignty, borders, and bounty against global threats.
Secure our God-given individual rights to live freely—what our Constitution calls “the Blessings of Liberty.
The problem with each of these is that on the surface they sound noble and somewhat sane, but once you dig into what is underneath each one, the tone changes dramatically.
The Project 2025 plan based on the book “Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise” is over 900 pages. Ironically, if you go the the Heritage Foundation website the book is “sold out”, and if you look on Amazon it is currently unavailable. My belief is that they never wanted it to go public. But thanks to the internet you can Google it and download it for free.
My plan is to take a look at each of the four pillars and debunk their viewpoint. But let me just say that the almost laughable part of the whole mandate is that while spouting freedom and less government, they lay out a plan that removes your freedoms and installs more government control over you life.
Recently, there has been an awakening about Project 2025, and as bad as it is, some things being said about it are not accurate. For example, although Republicans have been hell bent on getting rid of Social Security, the words do not appear in the document. For this reason, anything I say about it will be backed by direct quotes from the source document.
